First off, that's pretty cool.

Second, I think I'm moving to Alberta.

Third, Lakehead banned Wifi for health reasons, that needs to be noted.

Fourth, harddrives are all up and running. Funny story, sata-controller only lets me use the sata-drives when I set the controller to raid, and then use the raid5 drivers. Also, my power supply doesn't have the juice to start up all the drives at once, so I gotta disconnect half of them, get the psu warmed up, then shut down and reconnect the other drives. So as long as I don't turn off the computer for more than a half hour or so, I got no problem rebooting.
Also, it's frustrating to see a good collection wasting away, and as with all optical media, I'm getting CRC errors from my old DVD's. Not every disc and every file, but some.

I bought a couple HD's on friday, I'm up to a total 7 harddrives along with my dvd writer. Absolutely full. Computer must weigh 60 pounds. Anyhow, I've got my sata ports filled with my two 10krpm 74gb raptors, and two of my newly acquired 300gb 16mb 7200rpm drives. Over on the ide side of things, I've got my old 120gb (which I think is failing) my not so old 250gb 8mb 7200rpm, and my new 300gb 16mb 7200rpm drive.

So in total, thats 7 drives across 4 channels, comes out to about 1.4 terabytes, and since you lose about 4% when formatting, about 1.35 terabytes.

Now I know what you're both saying, what is he going to do with all that storage? Well first off, not putting anything in RAID, I've never had a system fail on me from a bad drive before, the signs are usually prevalent long before it happens. And I can't keep my current setup with the two raptors in raid because the controller wont let me have half of the devices in raid and the other half in jbod. So to start the 74gb's will get split into my system drive and my installed games/programs drive. That leaves 5 drives, 3x300gb drives a 250gb and a 120gb. The 120gb is failing, so I'm going to put as much work on it as possible without making it to important - download drive - high usage, nothing permanent, easy data to recover. So then that leaves 1.1TB for storage. Well I'm moving all my old media back from DVD. Lets see how long it takes to fill it up.

v-day

So yesterday was Valentine's day, nothing to see here.

I'm thinking about getting World of Warcraft for the weekend (and a lot of time afterwards), everybody seems to be enjoying it and I have been looking for a good MMO to get into.

In other news.... well I don't think there is other news, Cheney shot his "friend" Whittington. Thus far, Cheney has not apologized, but his office issued a statement saying that his prayers were with him. How much longer are these guys in office for?

So I think I'm getting a truck in the near future. Dodge RAM 1500 QuadCab with all the options etc. etc. Should be quite the gas guzzler. Superbowl XL went without any sort of terrorism activities as far as I can tell.
Got this sweetass HO that makes me feel all good inside, like a box of chocolat's, thats been left in the sun for a few hours, but slightly overcast, so like kind of melted but not totally. That took up most of my weekend.

ALSO!!! How fricken sweet is this?!?

Hard to believe I still have a blog, so much has happened since I last felt I had something to say. And really, the only thing I have to say here is that I have nothing to say. It has been one boring month. The most exciting thing to happen this month -may- have been finishing the wood to burn in the backyard. Also, Stephen Harper, Bush Research, Hamas, and 3.5 seasons of 24.

I hear we are getting tax cuts or something, GST down to 5? great, 2% less tax, now taxes will be 13%. It's easy to calculate 15%, but 13%? That takes at least one extra step, fucking Stephen Harper, I hear when he wants to take the GST down, he roundhouse kicks it in the head until it goes down.

Bush wants to invest in research, that will solve their problems right? He was all like, we have spent over 10 billion dollars on alternative fuel research since 1992! And I'm like yeah, and you've spent 10 billion dollars since last Monday in Iraq on war-oil.... Maybe you could put more money into future research if you spent less money blowing up Muslims with multi-million dollar missiles.
