So I see they are planning on rebuilding New Orleans. Now, it is a rather popular place to go, lots of history and culture that sort of thing. But as I understand it, they want to redesign the city to bring back even more culture (bringing back the redlight district for the music - not the prostitution), and make it that much more of a tourist attraction, all well and good right? Welllll, instead of comming up with new 'Out of the box' ideas to make it a tourist attraction, how bout spending some money on repairing the surrounding landscape? Maybe rebuild the coastline to prevent further problems of this magnitude? Well again, sort of, the levees will be rebuilt! Better even! This time, the levees will be able to withstand a Category 3 storm! What's that you say? The last levee system was built to withstand a Category 3 storm? Well yes, but what are the chances of ANOTHER storm in the region higher than Category 3? I mean, it's not like the area is prone to storms or anything right? Oh wait, yes it is, the coastline has been eroded to nothing due to the previous levee system, so there's all sorts of warm shallow water there......

I mean, as a people, we find it hard to learn from history, but typically it's ancient history we don't learn from, not last years history.

But I digress....

My dog may be the smartest dog I've ever seen. Keeping in mind he just turned 8 weeks old, he seems to be training himself. I picked him up last week on the new years eve thingy, I had a kennel for him to stay in, but he really didn't need it. From the get-go he stayed quiet and lay down on the seat and stared at me. Once we got to DC's he went to the bathroom outside, and then would go to the door when he needed to go out again. Since he's still too short to jump up into chairs, to get up, he puts his head under one of the arms, pushes up with his head and lever's his body up into the chair. By just repeatedly shouting his name, he will eventually find me, expect praise and a treat. Well I've been lazy lately and have been forgetting to give him the treat, so to compensate this, he has been bringing me a treat to give to him. He still likes to chew on pantleg's but other than that, pretty freakin smart.

PS. I have a dog now.

Home at last.

After a long long long weekend, we're home. And it is WE now, Ronin and I are a team not to be messed with. HE;s gettin used to the house right now, he likes me but not my chair, so its touch and go right now. Lots of cables around for him to chew on, so a constant eye is necessary.

- so tired, wheeeeeeeeee
