Xmas has come and gone, I've had my monitor for about a month now, it's still fricken sweet.
Just waiting on the dog now, I can pick him up December 29th, maybe by then we'll have the second nascent testicle decend. Just in time to cut them off!

See that guy in Florida that confessed to manslaughter in his blog?

Well here goes, I killed jesus. There it is, after the whole 'he is risen' thing, I figured nobody would care, but just in case someone out there has beef with me'n'j, bring it on.

This highlights the lack of comments for my blog here, as I'm sure someone has something to say about what happened earlier this week.

After snow.

So the party went well. There were some no shows, but then again, there was a pretty serious blizzard a couple days before that, and there was still some snow on the ground, so it's understandable that a few might not show. Other than that, lots of people showed up, my brother brought a bottle of scotch we finished off.

p.s Also, freedom is comming, freedom for all!

p.s.s Not the USA's version of freedom.

Snow

Apparently we are getting 6 inches of snow right now. Don't let this discourage your trip to the party, just drive slower. The highways should be plowed by tomorrow evening anyway.

It's 1984 everywhere but here.

What's with everyone saying they're losing? Record companies are losing profits to pirates, movie companies are losing profits to pirates, game companies are losing profits to pirates, online retailers are losing profits to pirates. They aren't actually losing anything, they never had it to begin with. Based upon what they expect to sell, if they don't meet those margins, the rest is assumed to be piracy. And these aren't like cost margins here, these are like, we should have made 300% of our investment back from this movie, we only made 47%! Pirates stole our profits! Maybe the movie just sucks?
The point is that because a company decides how much it wants to make on something and doesn't, pirates didn't necessarily take the rest of their profits. If I make my own movie and try to sell it, doug buys a copy and adam buys a copy, based on $1 per sale and an immediate 66% of all my immediate sales base purchasing my movie seems to indicate that 66% of the market will immediately purchase my video. WTF stole my profits? I should have something like $200 million rolling in!

Xmas party - revisited

Word on the street has it that the T. crowd is comming for sure. This is good news, since the gas mask has been perfected for use in bombing runs. Burnination!

New dog.

I've got myself a Siberian Husky pup on order. Should be ready for pickup new years eve. Right now he's 5 weeks old, the current owners want to hold on to him till he's a full 8 weeks old, so I guess I have 3 weeks to get my house ready for a pup.

Firefox Plugins

I saw this on wired today, lots of good stuff in there. BugMeNot extension looks pretty good. Also DownThemAll, seems like my sorts of plugins, although not from work.

In other news, I picked up a gas mask over the weekend, should come in handy on friday. Anyone else comming to this party I should know about?

Also, firelogs for the fireplace. I would hazard a guess that there will be one, maybe two left by the weekend. I carted in 4 or 5 wheel-barrel's of wood for burninating, you know, before it snowed and got all crappy for carting wood around. Anyhow, stacked it all up in the fort, big stack of kindling wood, big stack of logs. Get back two days later, all the kindling is gone and one log. Now I'm not one to complain.... But come on people, two days is two fires, you don't start a new fire every time you go out for a cigarette, and you don't keep a fire going by throwing more kindling on the fire. Kindling starts fires, logs keep fires going.

But I guess this to be expected, I mean, if they can't figure out garbage goes in garbage bags, how could they master the complexities of burning stuff.

I'm planning a christmas party next week. Anybody who wants to come knows how to get to my house. And those who don't can ask those who do.

Sympatico again.

Since I don't use the landline, I leave the phone off the hook and the headset unplugged. This seems to keep a pretty solid connection to sympatico all the time, which keeps my speeds fairly decent.

The stove in the smoking shack / fort is pretty good, takes a few minutes to get warmed up, but holds the heat pretty good once its got some coals.
New edit of Sincity on tonight, let's see what they did different.

It's just too perfect. I'm fairly sure it's going to get broken, it's just that perfect. Absolutely no dead pixels, crystal clarity, perfect colours; it's perfect.

I have the resolution set to it's native (optimal) resolution 1920x1200, and I can read the text from like 6 feet away. It's just absolutely gorgeous. Flat out easily the best $1000 I've ever spent.

It is however, going to require a new computer to fully appreciate it.

fortery completed

Good weekend. Picked up my new LCD on friday, looks fanfreakintastic. Installed the wood-burning stove into the fort over the weekend, after a bit of cementing and wiring, the stack is air-tight and good to go.
After the redesign, the fort holds heat much better now, people too! Need more chairs in there, and probably a stack of wood. The chimney is something of a problem, we need to cut down some branches that are a little too close for comfort.
Thinking about adding a railgun or two and some automated defense grids.

Also, Adam, bring home some chocolat milk and eggnog from Mac's, both Mac's brand. Crackers would be good too!

Addendum: The lcd really highlights the fact that my computer is 2 years old. It might be big and beefy, but it can't run my games in the resolution the monitor prefers (1920x1200) without turning down a lot of settings. Thus, a new computer is in the works, initial cost estimation is about $2000CAD.

Another re-design of the fort is in the works. The current design of a 6x6' shanty was ok for a second attempt. Now that we know what works and what doesn't, it shall be rebuilt sans holes, plus an extra 24 square feet, plus a fireplace.

The goal at this point may be to increase the value garage past the value of the house.

PS. This is enough to make me vote for him.

apparently 6-10% of all people using the net get addicted to it. apparently thats ok. apparently the real problem is that the internet allows other addictions to take over. addictions like gambling. addictions like pornography.
also, internet gaming is becomming addictive.

what happens when programmers get so good at programming, that all games are incredibly addictive? will they stop making good games? or just send you to the doctor for anti-addictive pills, (which may cause thoughts of suicide *previous post*)
