If anyone knows where does hdparm save DMA on/off info in linux, please let me know.
I am trying to get my DVD player to work properly. By default DMA was not enabled and because of it, the damn thing was skipping frames. Anyways, I tried to enable DMA through Yast (thats on SuSe 9.2), but being a smart ass, I chose the wrong DMA size and froze up the whole process. Now the damn thing (YAST) wouldn't even close. Even if I try to kill the process, nothing happens. Last option: RESET. Now here comes the funny part: even though i Reset my computer, this new DMA setting stays, so I can't go back to YAST and change it back to default, because it freezes up. That's why I need to find out where exactly is this DMA info being saved, so I can edit the file manually.
