Try to imagine this situation:
I have this great-uncle here, who is 85 years old. He was the first one from the family to come out here in Canada about 45 years ago, if not more. He was the one who worked hard and helped other family members come here and start a new life. We are all grateful for that.
But due the fact that he is sufferint from Alzeimer's disease, he now got to the point where he requires 24 hour supervision just to make sure he doesn't do anything stupid.
It is really the hardest thing to do, but we will have to put him into a retirement home (or whatever you call it). All of us here in Toronto are just to busy to be able to look out for him. He will get into good, caring hands.
Now the only thing we hope for is that he will still remember our faces, that he will remember who we are....
