This is not so much a direct remake of Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window, but more of a modern adaptation of the story, and frankly, after the Physco remake, I can safely say this was a much better way to go. The plot is still similar to the original, and quite suspenseful, they even managed to put in the accidental "did he or didn't he see us?" camera flash going off by the window scene, except updated to be caused by the flash on an HD handy cam, instead of a photo camera.

My only complaint with the film was the silly sub-sub-sub-basement, under the hidden room of the main hidden room. Seriously was a hidden room not good enough, did the bad guy need to have 5 levels of hiddennes.
