Awesome movie, Zack Snyder kicks ASS. If you thought his zombie baby from Dawn of The Dead was uncalled for gore, some of the limb removals in this movies battle scenes will really get to you. My cohort for the movie thinks she’s been desensitized to violence because it was so bloody and not the least bit disturbing. So I think we both have issues, because I agree with her, the gore was great.

From Latin class, which covered Greek history, the only thing I remember about the Greco-Persian war and the battle of Thermopylae on which this movie was based is that there were 300 Spartans, and that they were bad asses. Based on that recollection I have to say that this movie was very historically accurate. Hell based on that limited recollection, I'd have to say even the heavy-metal sounding soundtrack played during some of the battles is historically accurate, because I assume Spartans love the heavy-metal : )

The only critique I have is the over use of artificial film grain. I know the whole damn movie is digital, you don't have to over compensate with the excess noise. Other than the grain the movie was visually stunning, so don't take the critique as any sort of condemnation of the movie.
