Around 1 o'clock my boss came by and said "Pat get the hell out of here, the weather is going to get insane". People started leaving after that. I still had to wrap up 2 cases whom I had promised to get back to this afternoon, so I had to delay my departure. While working on those cases this douchebag that I had been ignoring caught me on the phone because I picked up without screening the call. He kept me on the phone for two hours before I got rid of his stupid ass, this was after saying "listen I have to analyse a lot of data to find out BLAH, so I'm going to call you back later", he said "no that's alright put me on hold" and so I was stuck there for two hours.
By the time I was finally leaving work at 3:45 the weather was insane, and the QEW was complete ass. So as I was leaving I told my comrade, if I die on the way home, you track down the douchebag from my case #373017 and avenge my death. He agreed to avenge with extreme prejudice, and I was on my way.
It took two hours to drive 55KM, the highway was slow, but there was enough wear and tear on the snow from all the other cars that it was at least manageable. From the highway off-ramp to my house though, that was 5KM of sheer terror. A lot of snow had accumulated on the roads and there were barely any trails carved through the roads from other cars. The car kept trying to veer in random directions, and at one point the car slid at the apex of the icy bridge when the wind was pushing me away. Freakin SCARY.
But the fun didn't stop there, when I reached my driveway, I could not drive into it, there was so much snow that I couldn't just plow my car up the path, I made it in about a half meter and the wheels started spinning on the snow. So I left the car on the side of the road and spent 30min shoveling out my drive way.
After that this guy made himself some hot chocolate and then took a nap for the past few hours.
