Currently the Rebel XT with the 18mm-55mm Kit lens is listed at Best Buy and Henrys for $829, that's a SUCKERS price. I procured mine for $699!

Concidering that replacing my last camera would cost $500 (the casio z750 is out of production and has been superceded by the z1000 which has a MSRP price of the exact same cost as my original z750, which is $500), taking this Digital SLR for an extra $200, was too good a deal to pass up. Plus we just got our bi-annual bonus at work, which is based on the performance of the company for the last two quarters. Seeing as how we grew financially by 210% since last year, I got a nice little bonus to blow : ) So part went to the camera, and a polarizing filter for said camera, and the rest went to my RRSP and DSP, cause thats the sort of boring shit you're suppose to do with your money when your grown up, or something... I'm told... enough boring talk, lets look at some photos I've taken while experimenting with it these past few days:

Long exposure. I left the shutter open for 15 seconds on this shot. I love the way that the steam from the buildings merges into a soft, malleable looking object.
Another long exposure, this time 20 seconds, zoomed in at the peak 55MM for the lens... memo to self save $1200 to buy a 300mm telephoto for better closeups.
