Most Uncomfortable Dining Experience Ever

Earlier this evening, Monika and I met up for the purposes of going out for dinner. Neither of us had eaten and were incredibly hungry, so we rushed to a nearby Queen St. thai food restaurant, to fill up on Pad-Thai.

As soon as we walked into the restaurant we got a weird vibe from the place. After we were shown to our tables by whom we assume was the owners wife, the owner of the place came by and threw the menus at our table. It was really weird and we laughed at this guys mannerisms because he was throwing stuff at all the patrons of this restaurant, and some of them were noticing and were amused by the weirdness as well. We had plenty of time to observe all this because the food took forever to arrive. As I mentioned earlier, we were starving so the long food delay was really getting to us. Eventually an appetizer arrived, and minutes later our main dishes, which luckily were placed on our tables and not thrown at us.

Just as we'd begun to eat our food, which was quite tasty from what I sampled. We heard some yelling coming from the back of the restaurant, then there was a ruckus, and there were sounds of stuff falling or being thrown sounds, then yelling, more flying kitchen ware sounds, what we think were sounds of the wife being hit. Crying, yelling, a woman yelling fuck you, crying, yet more yelling. Then the owner that was throwing stuff stormed outside yelled at us that the restaurant was closed and threw bills on everyones tables. Then he stormed away to the back of the place where there was more yelling.

Some people that were looking at the menu and had not ordered yet, got up and left. Us with food in front of us were a bit more confused about what to do. Monika asked a couple a few tables away from us what they were going to do, and the couple were confused and said they didn't know. We said we were just going to leave, this guy was insane thinking we were going to pay after that insanity, and us hardly touching our food. So while he was still in the back we got up and left. Hopefully he didn't come back outside and take out the anger of us having walked out on the meal on that poor couple who foolishly didn't follow us out the door right away.
I must say that without a doubt that was the strangest thing to ever happen while out on the town for dinner.

Still hungry, since we barely tasted our thai food. We ducked into a sushi place, where we had MUCH friendlier service, and some delicious maki to boot. Although the Japanese waitress that served us was speaking with a British accent, which totally freaked me out, but that my friends is a story for another time.
