Friday night shenanigans

07.17.04 - 04:09am
mood: meh
music playing: Deltron - New Coke
Tonight's shenanigans started off at Darksyde's, watching TV while waiting for the rest of the crew to get there, and on that note I'll just say that Jason X is a terrible movie!

Eventually we left for the Funhaus, which was anything but fun. The music was alright, but the insane heat and humidity made the place unbearable. I couldn't even attempt to dance, it was so bad.

After much bitching Darkyslide said we should go over to the Velvet since they have a working air conditioning system. I haven't been to the Velvet in over a year, so I had no idea how much the place had changed. Not cosmetically though, just in the crowd. Where as before it was a hang out for the cracked out goth wannabes that were too cool for the Zen lounge, it is now a trendy college kids hang out. I didn't even see one guy with eyeliner in there! It was beyond weird. OHHH I have to rewind this story a bit... back at the Funhaus we ran into this old acquaintance of ours and her friend.

Those two girls could not stand the horrible Funhaus heat either, so they left to the Velvet with us . Actually they wanted to go to Savage but they followed us to Velvet... errr no, wait, not so much "us" but more "me", since I was the only one they were chatting up.
Upon arrival at the Velvet they made the same observation as me about the crowd being all weird and different, and of the music sucking. They also made the observation that I was the hottest guy in there, and well I couldn't argue with that, since I really was.
But my hotness not withstanding that place sucked and I'd had enough of the clubs for one night, so we followed Jcloth's idea of going out for a gleam (this was around 1am). The girls were not at all pleased about that, since they wanted us me to go to Savage with them, and they were in disbelief that we were actually going to bail to go gleaming.

It took several attempts on my part to leave their clutches, but they would not let me go. So I threw 'em a card, exchanged some info, and was out the door like a Centaur.

From there we then went for a good gleam, in ideal weather conditions. I think my calves are once again ready for some marathon gleams, because they were toight and well behaved. So a good night was had by all.
