My trusty old bag started falling apart on me, and was certainly not capable of carrying my new baby, along with all my books, magazines, and "other" things.
Since the bag was no longer able to perform it's duties, it was necessary to buy a replacement for it, so I don't wanna hear any bitching after this blog is posted.
When it comes to laptop bags the soup de jour seems to be those man purse/messenger bags, which in my opinion are so passé it's not even funny.
What I wanted was a nice plain looking backpack that could accommodate the laptop and 15 or so liters of volume. The most highly recommended bag I found on my quest was the Metro-Clean model, made by Gravis(the skate shoe company), unfortunately it seems like EVERYONE in the Greater Toronto Area, stopped carrying Gravis bags. So that nice bag went bust. Next on the list were Burton laptop bags, which were god awful looking bags at ridiculously expensive prices. Then I checked out some Oakley bags, which while nice looking were also stupidly expensive( >= $199). Just as I was getting ready to give up and wrap all my belongings in a hobo type satchel, I found a wicked bad bag made by Dakine.
The bag in question is the Dakine - Street 101. It boasts some great features and a sub $99 price tag, so I snatched it up in a second.
