Now that I can login I can fill in some detail as to how my trip has been going, the short version for those of you that just want to move on to other things is Awesome.
The flight over here was fine, 8+ hours then a 4 hour stop over in Warsaw (saw many hot girls in Poland), then another 2 hours on a plane, for someone who has never been in a plane for more than 1 hour was not that bad really.
After hearing many many jokes about airplane food, I was expecting something out of return from the black lagoon, however the chicken with veggies was goodish, slightly better than what you get a most weddings.
First lesson learned is always try to be first, lineups can add more than 30 minutes to anything you are trying to do, like get out of an airport so you can have a smoke.
Our guide for this trip has been the lovely Olga, she has been very fun and has very good ideas. We drove for about an hour and a half to get from Odessa to the office.
The office is a great building with hotel suites built right in, now I know most people would think that sucks being so close to work, but it has been nice to be able to go back to my room whenever I want to get this or chill for a bit.
The first night we went for a walk down main street, which is blocked off from traffic and we soon discovered you can buy a beer just about anywhere and drink it while wondering around! What a great idea!
We did a little tour of downtown and the river, it was nice. Dinner was at a place Olga had worked before, it is an outdoor patio and the night was great. The food here is so rich and flavorful, I know I am going to gain some weight, at least all the meals are real food and I have has a salad with just about every meal.
Thursday night we went to dinner at a small place by the river and I had my first Vodka in the Ukraine. There was a lady giving a sales pitch for a brand of Vodka made in the Ukraine and part of her pitch was to had out free samples. The stuff was good and went down very smooth.
Friday we went for dinner then a club, the place was designed like a submarine. There was a small stage show of three guys who did bar tricks with bottles and mixing cups, it was pretty cool. Then we had some Absinthe shots, with the fire and melting sugar and the inhaling of fumes and everything, they were good shots however after two of them I did not feel anything so I got some Sambuca and beer which worked much better. They make good beer in Ukriane.
Saturday was suppose to be beach day but the two of us slept in and we went shopping instead. I went looking for a couple of things for people back home and my partner in crime was looking for something for his lady friend and maybe some clothes. He found a shirt which was cool, the jeans here are all not the right style for me (if you can call the way I dress a style).
Sunday....The beach and Odessa....We got up early and went to Odessa which is a great city. Much more of a touristy area but very nice. On the main street the had guys with animals like baby alligators, chinchillas and monkeys you can get you picture taken with for a few bucks.
We had lunch at a place called Fidel's which is themed after Cuba, the food was good, but the view was even better. I saw more beautiful woman in 30 minutes of sitting there than the whole year so far in Toronto.
The woman here dress like they they are going to the club district everyday. Tight jeans, club like tops, short skirts and dresses, with killer shoes. It is unbelievable. I would recommend any single heterosexual male make a trip here.
Then we hit the beach ( I have not been on a beach in like 8 years) I know there are a few people I hang around that will dis-own me for saying this but the beach was great). Yes, for those disbelievers that know me, I enjoyed being in the sun and the sea was great to swim in, I am hoping we get to the beach one more time before we leave.
Monday was quiet, a nice lunch at a very good restaurant, worked until midnight (5 pm EST) and then watched some Wonder Showzen. A very missed up show which is very funny, those episode 8 did try my patience.
That brings me up to date....I will try to update daily from this point on.
