Christmas is coming for those that celebrate or follow those beliefs, to the best of my knowledge this is suppose to be the time for celebrating the birth of the son of the Christian god, however that has been over shadowed by this gift/fat guy in a red suit thing.
This season has been ruined for me, I am having real trouble getting in the spirit. My childhood memories are of the family decorating the whole house together, having fun sneaking out of the house with my dad to go pickup some gift for my mom and helping my mom wrap everyone gifts. Now it seems I don't even like seeing the trees and lights and crap...I would like to hide behind the "it's the too full of commercialism" but it truly isn't that.
Those that know me are aware of what I am talking about and I have done my best not to let it affect me in any great way. It has been the little things that I have noticed, like little anti marriage comments I now make and such, I was never very big on marriage as I see it as a religious requirement more than anything else.
Back to the point of this thing...I have decided to buy myself something, I have a few choices and I am not sure which one to treat myself too.
1) a new 30 something inch TV, my current one works fine but is old and only has coax connection none of the audio stuff and I can't connect it up to my computer easily
2) a SoundBlaster Nomad Zen Xtra - 20 gig MP3 player that doubles as a portable HD, I have my laptop already and a 32meg USB key so I really don't need the HD functions, maybe a small MP3 player would be better
3) another box, something over 2 GHz processor
4) a new PDA, my current palm m500 just isn't cool enough
5) a better cell phone, the one I have has good sound and reception but that's it. I need IR and if I can get something, PDA and phone combo that would be better, I need to look at what Rogers offers
I am leaning towards the phone/PDA but we will see.
