I am a Fantasy Goth (I guess). You may or may not actually be a goth, but "normal" folks see you as one of those weird kids, and you are probably considered a geek by quite a few.

Almost summer update

Haven't updated in a while, not much to tell really, working, going home, sleeping is about it for me. I did go to the DarkRave last Saturday and it was great. The music was wicked, drank a bit and had fun. Warren joined me as well as Dennis (as he works there now). Got home at like 6:30 am and crashed hard. Slept most of Sunday. Not much else really to report....

Long Wrong Weekend

05.23.06 - 08:51am

The long weekend started out good. I booked Friday off to give myself an extra extra long weekend and planned on going out Thursday to my favorite place, then early last week I got an email for an amazing friend who offered to sell me a ticket to the Depeche Mode concert. I took her up on the offer as the concert was on Thursday and I already had Friday off. I thought fate was smiling on me and was making up for my minor surgery I had to have on Tuesday of last week.

I went to the concert and it was wicked, they started with some new stuff which was OK but then switched up to some of the oldies but goodies. We then proceeded to Velvet and had some fun there, the place was a little more crowded than usual because of the concert goers and that fact it was a long weekend.

Friday afternoon I wake up and can barely move, my lower back was killing me, I could only shuffle around and even that was done with great pain. So for the rest of the weekend I was home bound. I has some good friends come and visit, (Thank you for the dishes and company) spent a little time in front of the computer, (even now my back doesn't like sitting here) but mostly slept and couched. I am glad I booked off Tuesday as well because, I feel one more day of rest is needed, thought I do need to make yet another trip to the doctor's office to get re-bandaged yet again, I need to go every 2 days for as long as they say and they are not sure how long that will be, it takes time for a dime sized whole in your back to heal.

I guess fate or karma (whichever you call it) is just trying to keep a balance, I hope this weekend as now put me in the negative for a while so I can have some good happen. One can hope....

Bloodrayne the movie

Made it back to Toronto and have finally gotten back on to Toronto time. It is weird that going to Ukraine does not cause any 'jet lag' at all, I got there and fell into the work, eating, and sleeping schedule right away. Returning to good old EST takes a little more adjustment which equals about 4-5 days.

Anyway I got my hands on a very good rip of the movie, Bloodrayne based on the video game. Now the fight scenes are not super, but Kristanna Loken (Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003) .... T-X) is not and not super skinny, she does a pretty good job and you get to see her boobies. The blood in the movies is better than I expected, after most of the video game movies I have seen to date. I mean most movies when a guy gets a sword run across his belly, he bends over, you see some red colour expand from beneath his arm being held across his 'wound'. In this movie blood goes spraying all over, and even when a throat gets slashed you see the wound and the blood spills all over.

Two good points of the movie are Meat Loaf and Ben Kingsley both have roles.

No place like home

Nothing in this world makes you appreciate you home and your 'normal' life as does being away from it. Don't get me wrong, I have found I kinda like traveling, I might if I ever have money starting trying to visit other places in the world. I like the people here and got lots of work done but I do miss my home.

By home I mean more than just the crappy apartment I live in, I mean my city, my friends, my normal routine. A change in routine allows you to look at what you've been doing from the outside and make changes when you return and this trip, I have found I like the path my life is taking both socially and professionally.

I will be in the air in 12 hours or so, stop in Vienna for the night, I have 36 pictures I can take so I will get some done there. Then on to home by around 4 pm Saturday. Yes, there are going to let me back in the country.

See you soon.

1 day and counting

I have made it to the second last full day here and all in all I got a lot of work done. Now it is a matter of sticking to the game plan and hitting the objectives my boss and I have laid out for the year. The manager he is awesome, him and I think much a like when it come to staff, work and such, kinda scary.

Anyway I have recovered from that horrible, yes again it is a horrible movie, not much else to report...I hope someone is still reading this.

See you soon....I might post one more time before I leave we will see.....

UltraViolet = UltraCRAP

03.07.06 - 08:29am

Nothing going on in Ukraine so I watched a movie...

Hollywood strikes again, the promos for this move looked great, and Milla looks good if a little anorexic, but doesn't she always. I would not recommend this movie to anyone, and that includes the mentally challenged.

The only scenes worth watching are a couple of the fight scenes and if you like CG the chase scene, which would bring the movie in around 15 minutes long, if that. There were a couple of cool techno- fantasy ideas and a few effects that we have all seen before. Really glad I did not pay to see this.

Now for a few movies that you could watch and get the 'fix' you thought you might have gotten from this movie.

Here are some of the Plot Keywords for Ultraviolet(2006) from IMDB

Sword Fight - any Highlander film (except the last one)
Genetic Mutation - X-men (need I say more)
Martial Arts - Come on, like a million of them
Gatling Gun - T2
Action Heroine/Dark Heroine - Aeon Flux (was much better)
Near Future - Equilibrium
Vampire - lots of these too but, An American Vampire Story
A good vampire movie if all you want is Vampires and T & A (Carmen Electra) also it has Adam West as The Big Kahuna with lines like 'Don't get your skivvies caught in your crack.' How can you go wrong. Any movie with Adam West rocks!

Vampires - Yes, surprise Ultracrap is suppose to be a vampire movie, the only thing I can say is there are hundreds of other vampire movies out there and if you want to watch a shittier one the watch Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter, at least it was not meant to be serious.

As a final note:

"A teaser trailer and a rough cut of one of the action sequences leaked to the Internet after being shown to a small group. Kurt Wimmer (Director/Writer) has since requested that all clips be taken offline in order to keep the film mostly a secret until he decides to let it out of the bag. No traces of the clips remain on the Net." IMDB

Even Kurt knew it sucked and did not want word getting out. I hope I saved you a few bucks.

Not much to say about today, spent most of it reading and watching crap on TV. Had a couple of good chats with friends. I think this is the shortest entry I have made but it feels like the longest day ever.

We had a bit of snow during the morning hours Ukraine time. I woke up to a winter wonderland, I think it was payback for me making fun of the fact it is warmer here that in Toronto. I must say even with the snow it was still warmer here than there again today.

Not much to report, the gums are fine, I am enjoying the home cooking, and the suite is very nice. I would like to go out to a club or something but I do not see that happening with the addition of the 1/2 foot of snow, this make this place the greatest 4 star prison I have ever been too.
