This is the structure of the 404 at the 401.



North side lane:

1. Express lane for 2 or more passengers.
The problem is that it cuts off lane 2 on the north side going into the turn. It is a very fast travelling lane.

2. Very slow lane because it is cut off by lane 1 going south.

3. Average speed lane but has the issue of being cut off by travellers who do not want to merge into the East/West off ramps. (not shown)

4. Fairly smooth travel off the 401

5. Too sharp of a turn and merges uncomfortably close to south side lane 2.

South side lane:

1. So much congestion that its like driving on a snail
2. So much congestion that its like driving on a snail

Whatever moron designed this is just that, a moron. This area was bad before, but not this bad. Now it just flat out sucks. Coming from the north side, there are only 2 lanes to go south where there used to be 3... and north side lane 4 is for people who cheat and take the east/west exit. Just so they can get back on and go south.

It is the worst highway design ever and I hope the man/men/people responsible are all fired after its construction.
