TOPAMAX me up

After much bitching, I finally saw the specialist about my seizure condition.

I walked in and said, "Let me guess, the EEG showed normal and I'm just crazy". He told me the EEG was normal (as expected) but nothing about the crazy :)
This makes over 20 EEG's that I have had and ALL have come back with 'normal'.

The ideal solution is to get me off of this Dilantin shit I've been taking for years and onto something more recent than a pill made 50 or so years ago.

Dilantin is a killer, it has side effects of:
sedation, impaired memory, slurred speech, nystagmus, decreased coordination,
confusion, dizziness, headache, hirsutism, enlargement of the gums, enlargement of the lips
Try and find me one of those that I don't have. Trust me, I gotz em all!!

TOPAMAX (Pronounced: TOW-pah-macks) has the following side effects:
Abdominal pain, abnormal coordination, abnormal vision, agitation, anxiety, appetite loss, back pain, chest pain, confusion, constipation, depression, difficulty with concentration, difficulty with memory, dizziness, double vision, drowsiness, fatigue, flu-like symptoms, indigestion, involuntary eye movement, language problems, leg pain, loss of coordination, mood problems, nausea, nervousness, rash, sinusitis, slowing of movements, sore throat, speech problems, tingling or burning sensations, tremors, upper respiratory infection, weakness, weight loss
....but apparently, it's better than Dilantin so I'm willing to give it a try.

Now onto what I found quite interesting from the day...

I decided it's time to get another Medic Alert necklet. I call in thinking that I'm a complete unknown to them and I have to register like a newb. Quite the opposite. They had my ID # and a temporary password for me to login and update my profile. I even found out that I have a lifelong subscription, so rather than a 'new' order, I had to 're'order my necklet.

I also spoke to quite a cute sounding phone rep, whom I emailed in about to her boss, cuz she was rather helpfull and efficient.

Anyhoo... the profile was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO out of date. It had my original Dr. from when I went to Sick Kids. It had my phone # with the area code of 416 like it was way back in the day. There were a few other things I took screen shots of, purely for nostalgia. It was cute to see such out of date info that was inputted about 22 years ago. (my god I'm old)

I should have my necklet in 7-10 days. Just in time to go to India.

Uhmmmmm... that's it. So uhmmmm... GO LEAFS GO!!!!
