Normally I pay at the pump, but it was so ass cold that I figured, "fuck these slow ass Shell pumps, I'm paying inside". I pump my gas and then just leave without even the consideration of going inside to pay.
It took a few hours later while out with FairlyFly to question:
a. did I pay?
b. how did I pay if I had?
Post-meal, FairlyFly and I go back to the gas station and present the $20 of Canadian Green. The guy behind the counter (younger than I) was thanking me to no end. Even going as far as offering me a free drink or hotdog. Had I not come back to pay, the $20 would have to come out of his pocket. I asked and he claimed that roughly 2% of people who drive off without paying actually come back to pay.
